Service Overview

Reaching Complex Systems Through Engineered Vapor-Phase Cleaning

Vapor-phase chemical cleaning is an effective method for decontaminating process equipment and interconnected systems where conventional liquid circulation may have limited access. The technique is particularly suited to complex process systems containing hydrocarbons, oils, residues, and other contaminants that may be difficult to reach using conventional cleaning methods.

Excel Tech introduces selected cleaning chemistry into a controlled steam stream, allowing the treatment to travel with the vapor through equipment, piping, vessels, process lines, and difficult-to-reach internal areas. As the vapor moves through the system, the cleaning chemistry comes into contact with contaminated surfaces and helps mobilize, loosen, and remove hydrocarbons and associated process residues.

The vapor-phase approach can provide effective treatment across interconnected equipment and piping networks, including areas where direct liquid contact or circulation may be challenging. This makes the method useful for complex systems with multiple branches, elevated sections, dead legs, restricted access points, and intricate internal configurations.

Each cleaning program is engineered according to the specific requirements of the system. Key considerations include equipment configuration, process history, contaminant characteristics, metallurgy, operating conditions, system volume, access points, and the required cleaning outcome. Based on these factors, appropriate chemical formulations, injection methods, steam conditions, circulation arrangements, and treatment durations are established for the application.
