Time of Flight Diffraction (ToFD) is an advanced method of Ultrasonic Inspection that utilises a pitch-catch mode of propagation. This inspection technique measures the time of arrival of tip-diffracted signals emitted from the top and bottom tips of defects. ToFD is used for back-wall monitoring, corrosion mapping, HTHA detection and sizing, and weld inspection, among other applications.
